Introduction to Soft Pack Cells for Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries Used in Haibo Electric Industry



      At present, there are three main types of lithium iron phosphate battery cells on the market: cylindrical cells, square cells, and soft pack cells.

       Cylindrical battery cells are generally packaged in steel shells, with a small individual capacity. Although they have high safety, their weight is also relatively heavy, making the specific energy of lithium battery packs relatively low. They are not suitable for industrial applications and are commonly used in solar lamps, lawn lamps, electric tools, and toy models.

The packaging shell of square battery cells is mostly made of materials such as aluminum alloy or stainless steel. The battery adopts a winding or stacking process inside, which provides better protection for the battery cells than soft pack lithium batteries. The safety of the battery cells is also greatly improved compared to cylindrical lithium batteries. The square battery cells can be customized according to the size of the product, which will also result in numerous different models of square lithium batteries on the market. However, having too many different models of lithium batteries will make it difficult to unify the process, resulting in low automation levels and significant individual differences.

There may also be groups of square lithium battery packs that have a much shorter lifespan than individual lithium batteries.Soft pack cells mainly use aluminum-plastic composite film material, which is the most critical and technically challenging material in soft pack cells. Soft packaging materials mean that soft packaged lithium batteries can also be customized according to customer requirements for lithium battery specifications and shapes. Soft pack lithium batteries do not explode like square and cylindrical lithium batteries, and are lighter in weight than other batteries.It is worth mentioning that there is a large amount of electrolyte inside cylindrical and square cells, and in case of safety hazards, a large amount of electrolyte will flow out.

However, there is only a small amount of electrolyte inside the soft pack battery cell, and in the event of a safety hazard, there is almost no electrolyte overflow.In summary, soft pack batteries are the best choice for Haibo Electric's industrial lithium iron phosphate battery cells.
