According to the data released at the meeting, in 2022, China's high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing industries accounted for 15.5% and 31.8% of the above designated industries, respectively. From 2012 to 2022, the cumulative decrease in added value energy consumption of industrial units above designated size exceeded 36%. The production and sales of new energy vehicles have remained the world's top for 8 consecutive years, with the main links of the photovoltaic industry chain accounting or over 70% of the global production. As of the end of April 2023, a total of 3616 green factories, 267 green industrial parks, and 403 green supply chain management enterprises have been established at the national level.

"To promote green industrial development, it is necessary to fundamentally solve the bottleneck of resource and environmental constraints, and promote the green transformation of production methods from the source." Liu Wenqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute, said that improving the efficiency of energy and resource utilization should be given top priority, optimizing production processes and processes, promoting energy conservation, consumption reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement, while strengthening innovation and cultivating new driving forces for green industrial development.

Xin Guobin stated that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the promotion of high-end industrial structure, low-carbon energy consumption, circular resource utilization, clean production processes, green product supply, and digitalization of manufacturing processes, in order to accelerate the green development of industry through these six aspects of transformation. He specifically proposed to resolutely curb the blind development of "two high" projects, vigorously improve the energy efficiency level of key industries such as steel, non-ferrous metals, building materials, and data centers, develop new energy industries such as photovoltaics and wind power with high quality, actively promote new energy vehicles and green intelligent ships, and enhance the supply of green and low-carbon products.
